What is Topcat?

TopcatTM is a software product from Microlynx Software Engineering Limited. Topcat is a connectivity product which allows Acorn Computers to boot from, and use, a Microsoft® Windows NT® or Windows 2000 Server to access RISC OSTM and Windows applications and to browse the Web - eg the Internet or a corporate Intranet.    For further details, see the Topcat Data Sheet.

How much does Topcat cost?

Topcat costs £499 + VAT per server.

What is Topcat Lite?

Topcat Lite is a version of Topcat which allows Web browsing and Windows applications to be run - i.e. RISC OS is not supported.    For further details, see the Topcat Lite Data Sheet.

How much does Topcat Lite cost?

Topcat Lite costs £125 + VAT per server.

What do I need to build a system?

This of course depends on a number of factors, including: how many clients you need, whether you want to use any existing hardware (eg Acorn A3020) as client devices, whether or not you already have a network installed, what applications you need to run, and most important of all, how big your budget is!
