Topcat Released at BETT '99

13th January 1999 -- Version 1.03 of Topcat was launched today at the BETT '99 show at Olympia.   This first full version provides Acorn computers with the capability to use Microsoft Windows NT Servers to run RISC OS applications, browse the Web, and with Citrix Inc.'s Metaframe software and the Terminal Server Edition of the Windows NT Server, access to 32-bit Windows applications becomes a reality.    The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Education, Mr Charles Clarke visited the Acorn stand and used the new Acorn Sprinter computer to access the Internet from the RISC OS desktop.     Topcat and the Acorn Sprinter computers is available now from Acorn Network Centres.   Call 0870 240 8080 for your nearest stockist.    

Also seen on the Microsoft stand an Acorn computer running Encarta '99 using Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server.
